Finishing a Good Book – The 5 Stages of Grief

Denial

“Psht, it’s not over. I can still go back and read the acknowledgments and appendixes.”

Anger

“How dare she end it there?! Urgh!” *throws book across room* *searches Google for sequel* “What? 2017? Noooooo!”

Bargaining

“Dear author, I promise to subscribe to your newsletter if you give me a preview of the sequel. A blog post? Some fanfiction? Please acknowledge my suffering!”

Depression

“They got married, and had kids, and the world was safe thanks to them. I’ll never be happy again!” *sob* “They’re never coming back to me…”

Acceptance

*sigh* “Okay…” *hugs book and stares out window for rest of day*

Let’s face the facts…we’ve all been there.
